Privacy
Last updated: 11 June 2026
This policy explains what personal data Voie collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Who we are
Voie is operated by Kara Peet — 2967 Dundas St. W. #1294, Toronto, ON M6P 1Z2, Canada. For any privacy question, write to privacy@voie.care.
What we collect
Therapists: name, professional credentials, languages, country and city, contact email, photo, bio, payment metadata from Stripe, and account login details. Therapist profiles are publicly visible and may be indexed by search engines.
Clients and visitors: the email address and message you send through a contact or inquiry form, and your search inputs (language, country) in aggregated form. Please avoid submitting sensitive health or clinical information in initial inquiry forms.
Everyone: basic technical data needed to keep the site working and secure (strictly necessary cookies, local browser storage, and error logs).
Why we collect it
Running your therapist profile and processing your subscription — contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)).
Replying to inquiries you send us — legitimate interest in supporting our users (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Keeping the platform secure and detecting abuse — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Accounting and tax records — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
Optional waitlist sign-ups — consent you give at the form (Art. 6(1)(a)).
Who processes your data on our behalf
Lovable Labs Incorporated — application platform and managed cloud hosting (Lovable Cloud).
Cloudflare, Inc. — content delivery, DNS, and security infrastructure.
Supabase, Inc. — authentication, database storage, and file storage.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure supporting Supabase services.
Resend, Inc. — transactional email delivery.
Stripe — payment processing.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing.
International transfers
Some of the providers above may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
How long we keep your data
Active therapist profiles: while your account is active.
Deleted accounts: held for 30 days in a deactivated state to allow reinstatement, then permanently erased.
Contact form messages sent to Voie are retained only as long as operationally necessary to respond, troubleshoot delivery issues, and manage abuse or legal obligations.
Therapist inquiry messages sent to therapists through Voie are transmitted for delivery but are not stored by Voie as message content after sending, aside from limited delivery metadata and aggregate analytics.
Waitlist entries: until launch in your country, or 24 months at most.
Payment and accounting records: retained as required by applicable legal, accounting, and tax obligations.
Aggregated analytics: up to 25 months.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, write to privacy@voie.care — we'll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are in the EU, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, including the CNIL in France (www.cnil.fr).
If you are in Canada, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (www.priv.gc.ca).
Automated decision-making
Voie does not make any automated decisions or profiling that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit, and regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure — if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the CNIL as required by law.
Cookies and storage
Voie uses only the storage strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the site (session cookies, language preference). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We collect aggregate, non-identifying analytics about searches and profile views to improve the directory.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
About Voie
Voie helps you find a therapist who speaks your language.
Every therapist listed on Voie is an independent professional, responsible for their own services, qualifications, and regulatory compliance. Your therapeutic relationship is between you and your chosen therapist — Voie is never part of it, never takes a commission on sessions, and does not endorse individual therapists.
The information on this site is general guidance, not professional or legal advice. Voie is not responsible for the content of therapist profiles or external links, and is not liable for any loss arising from using the site or working with a therapist.
If you have a concern about a therapist, please contact them directly or their regulatory body.
As Voie grows, this page will evolve. When something significant changes, we'll keep it clear and visible.
